Asakusabashi Station (浅草橋駅) is an elevated station in Taitō, Tokyo, on the Chūō–Sōbu Line (Local) and the Asakusa Line, run by East Japan Railway Company and Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation. It opened on 1 July 1932.
History
The Sōbu Main Line station opened on 1 July 1932. The Toei Subway Line 1 station opened on 4 December 1960 and made the two an interchange. A new east station building for the national railway was completed on 22 April 1963. The Toei Subway Line 1 was renamed the Asakusa Line on 1 July 1978. East Japan Railway Company took over the national railway station on 1 April 1987.
Suica became usable on the JR platforms on 18 November 2001. The JR west exit was outsourced on 1 April 2006. PASMO became usable on the Toei subway on 18 March 2007. The JR west elevator came into use on 26 March 2016, and the west exit became unstaffed early in the morning from 1 April 2016. The JR east exit was outsourced on 1 July 2018.
The Midori no Madoguchi ticket office closed on 31 January 2021. Platform doors came into use on the Sōbu Line platforms on 26 April 2021. Eki-net Q Ticket service started on 1 October 2025.
