Fukiage Station (吹上駅) is a ground-level station with an elevated concourse in Kōnosu, Saitama, on the Takasaki Line, run by East Japan Railway Company and Japan Freight Railway Company. It opened on 1 March 1885 as a Nippon Railway station.
History
Nippon Railway opened the station on 1 March 1885. In June 1901 the Oshi horse tramway, the forerunner of the Gyōda horse tramway, began running to the front of the station. The station was nationalized on 1 November 1906. The horse tram service stopped around 1922.
A footbridge over the tracks was installed in May 1974. Freight handling ended on 21 August 1980, except at private sidings. The station building was rebuilt with an elevated concourse on 20 October 1981. Luggage handling ended on 14 March 1985. A Midori no Madoguchi ticket office opened on 28 December 1986.
East Japan Railway Company and Japan Freight Railway Company took over on 1 April 1987. Automatic ticket gates opened on 2 February 1995. Suica was added on 18 November 2001. Shonan-Shinjuku Line trains began serving the station on 1 December 2001. Freight train service ended on 23 March 2002. The north station rotary was renovated in 2010.
The station became unstaffed early in the morning on 10 March 2016. Outsourced staff took over in July 2017. The Midori no Madoguchi ticket office closed on 31 October 2023.
