Hon-Kugenuma Station (本鵠沼駅) in Fujisawa, Kanagawa, is run by Odakyu Electric Railway and is on the Enoshima Line (江ノ島線). It opened on 1 April 1929.
History
The station opened on 1 April 1929 when the Enoshima Line opened. It was a stop for 'through' (直通) services, and local trains then ran only between Shinjuku Station (新宿駅) and Inadanoboribe Station (稲田登戸駅), now Mukōgaoka-Yūen Station (向ヶ丘遊園駅). On 16 November 1943 the line between Fujisawa and Katase-Enoshima was made single track, because track had been given up for wartime use. In June 1945 the through service ended, and local trains ran the full line and stopped here. On 1 October 1946 double track between Fujisawa and this station was restored.
A semi-express service started on 19 September 1948 and stopped here. Double track between this station and Katase-Enoshima was restored on 10 April 1949. A commuter express service began on 25 March 1955 and stopped here. On 5 November 1964 the station became an express stop, when all trains stopped here.
On 22 August 1998 some express trains began to pass through the station. On 16 May 2004 an east ticket gate opened. On 1 November 2004 a paid bicycle park opened on the east side. On 11 December 2004 some express trains began stopping here. A trial of partly unmanned daytime operation began on 15 May 2005. The widening of the first Hon-Kugenuma crossing was completed on 31 March 2007.
On 17 March 2018 the station was removed from the express stops, and only local trains stop here.
