Kisogawa Station (木曽川駅) is a station in Ichinomiya, Aichi. Central Japan Railway Company runs it. It opened on 1 June 1886.
History
Kisogawa Station (木曽川駅) opened on 1 June 1886 as a general station, on a temporary basis, for the section between Ichinomiya and Kisogawa. On 25 April 1887 the section from Kisogawa to Kanō opened, and the station became a stop along the way. The first station building was completed in June 1888. On 28 October 1891 the Nōbi earthquake destroyed the building. A second station building was completed in 1892.
On 1 April 1895 the line was named the Tōkaidō Line, which later became the Tōkaidō Main Line. Freight handling ended on 1 October 1962. Parcel handling ended on 1 February 1984. On 1 April 1987 the station passed to Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). A ticket office for all JR lines opened in March 1993. Automatic ticket gates came into use on 4 November 1995.
Work on a new over-the-tracks station building began in June 2006. The TOICA IC card became usable on 25 November 2006. The east-west free passage and the new over-the-tracks station building opened on 12 April 2008. They replaced the second building, which had been in use until then.
A station numbering system was introduced in March 2018. The JR all-lines ticket office closed on 31 January 2024. From 1 February 2024 the station became unstaffed, as a customer support service was introduced.
