Kokuryō Station (国領駅) is in Chōfu, Tokyo. Keio runs it on the Keio Line. It opened on 15 April 1913.
History
The station opened on 15 April 1913 as a station of the Keio Electric Railway, on the north side of the Kōshū Kaidō road. A marker from the Chōfu Board of Education says the station is reported to have been called Kitaura Station for a time, at strong local request. On 17 December 1927 the station moved to its current site. On 31 May 1944 the Tokyo Kyuko Electric Railway absorbed the Keio Electric Railway, and the station became a station of the Keio Line. On 1 June 1948 Keio Teito Electric Railway separated from Tokyu, and the station became its station.
On 22 March 1994 the platform was extended to take longer trains, and it came into use. On 12 November 2006 the upbound line on the Shibasaki side was moved to a temporary track. On 3 December 2006 the downbound line on the same side was moved too. On 4 March 2007 a temporary elevated station building and an elevator came into use, and the old underground station building stopped being used.
On 16 March 2008 the downbound line was switched, and the platform became a single-sided platform. On 27 March 2008, during work to put the station underground, an unexploded bomb was found. Keio Line trains were suspended between Tsutsujigaoka and Chōfu on 18 May 2008 while the bomb was dealt with. On 6 July 2008 the upbound line was switched, and the station had one island platform serving two lines. The old upbound platform was closed and later dismantled.
The station became an underground station on 19 August 2012. Platform doors came into use on 26 August 2012. Station numbering (KO) was introduced on 22 February 2013. On 20 February 2021 the approach melody was changed to the theme song of works related to Ishihara Promotion.
