Musashi-Nakahara Station (武蔵中原駅) is an elevated station in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. East Japan Railway Company runs it and it serves the Nambu Line. It opened on 9 March 1927.
History
Musashi-Nakahara Station opened on 9 March 1927 with the Nanbu Railway's section between Kawasaki and Noborito. On 1 April 1944 the Nanbu Railway was nationalised and became the Nambu Line of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Freight handling ended on 16 January 1961. On 1 April 1987 the station passed to East Japan Railway Company (JR East).
On 27 November 1988 the down line was elevated. On 20 December 1990 the station moved slightly towards Musashi-Kosugi with the elevation. On 8 September 2000 a shopping centre, Alcard Musashi-Nakahara, opened under the elevated tracks. On 18 November 2001 Suica became usable. On 2 October 2005 the station announcements changed to the ATOS system.
On 9 April 2011 the Nambu Line rapid service began stopping here again. The stop had been planned for an earlier date, but was delayed by planned power cuts after the earthquake. On 30 May 2011 the shopping centre was renewed as Beans Musashi-Nakahara. On 24 January 2013 the departure melody was changed to a cheer song of the Kawasaki Frontale football club. On 18 March 2021 a booth-type shared office, STATION BOOTH from STATION WORK, opened in the station.
On 30 June 2023 smart platform doors came into use on some platforms. On 14 February 2024 the Midori no Madoguchi ticket office closed. On 10 March 2025 smart platform doors came into use on the other platforms.
