The station formally opened as a passenger station with the opening of the section between Takadanobaba (temporary) Station on the Musashimura Line and Higashi-Murayama Station, located about 300 meters east of the current location on the Takadanobaba side, with Shimōkaichi Station as the terminus from Higashi-Murayama to Tokyo.
