Toyo-Katsutadai Station (東葉勝田台駅) is in Yachiyo, Chiba Prefecture. The Keisei part of the station opened on 1 May 1968 and is run by Keisei Electric Railway, while Toyo Rapid Railway runs the underground part.
History
An application was filed on 17 August 1967 for a new Katsutadai station between Keisei Owada and Shizu. The station opened on 1 May 1968. On 16 June 1973 it became a stop for commuter limited express trains.
In October 1991, Keisei, Yachiyo city and Toyo Rapid Railway signed an agreement on connecting facilities and a north-south passage. In December 1992 Yachiyo city proposed a mixed-use development project, the first of its kind in Japan. The station name was decided on 17 August 1995. Toyo Rapid Railway opened on 27 April 1996. On 30 March 1997 the station's ticket gates moved underground, linked to Keisei Katsutadai station by an underground passage.
In late October 2008, dedicated PASMO and Suica ticket gates were introduced. Construction of a down escalator began in early November 2008 and was finished on 24 March 2009. Elevator work between the platforms and the ticket gates began on 5 April 2010, and the elevator went into use on 14 August 2010. On 19 March 2011, elevators were opened for the concourse, for the platforms, and for the public road to the north exit. On 18 March 2014 the station kiosk MiNiSHOP became a FamilyMart.
The commuter pass counter closed on 15 April 2022. On 11 July 2023 the underground south exit on the Keisei side was closed for elevator construction. On 28 June 2024 the ground-level elevator and escalator at the south exit were completed.
