Sagami Electric Railway applied for a license for the Atsugi-Shinyokohama Line from Sagami-Atsugi Station (now Atsugi Station) via this station to Shinyokohama Station (in Minamiohta-cho, Minami-ku, Yokohama, different from the current Shinyokohama Station), but the application was rejected due to competition with Kannami Railway (now Sagami Railway Main Line) and Shonan Electric Railway (now Keikyu Main Line).
