Chuo rinkan is a railway station in Tokyo.

Chūō-rinkan Station (中央林間駅) is in Yamato, Kanagawa. Odakyu Electric Railway and Tokyu Railways both run the station. The lines served are the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line. It opened on 1 April 1929.

History

On 1 April 1929 the station opened as Chūō-rinkan Toshi Station (中央林間都市駅) on Odakyu's Enoshima Line. Only some trains stopped there at first, and local trains ran only between Shinjuku and Inadanoboru (now Mukōgaoka-Yūen). On 15 October 1941 the station was renamed Chūō-rinkan Station. In June 1945 the direct service ended, so local trains ran the whole line and stopped here. On 1 October 1946 semi-express trains began and stopped here.

On 9 April 1984 the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line station opened and became a transfer station. On the same day Japan's first electronic interlocking system came into use here. On 27 March 1990 the Odakyu Enoshima Line became an express stop. On 26 April 1996 the Den-en-toshi Line express extended here. On 22 March 2002 the Shōnan Express was added on the Enoshima Line, and the semi-express service ended. On 11 December 2004 the Shōnan Express was renamed the Rapid Express (快速急行). On 28 March 2008 a weekday morning semi-express began here on the Den-en-toshi Line.

On 31 October 2009 the Tokyu ticket office and the Tecopla service counter closed. In 2014 station numbering was introduced. On 7 December 2015 the Tokyu concourse and second floor were renewed as Etomo Chūō-rinkan. On 1 October 2019 express trains from the Oimachi Line began to run into this station. On 22 December 2019 movable platform doors came into use on the Tokyu platforms.

On 27 November 2021 the Odakyu east ticket gate came into use. On 30 January 2023 the Tokyu staffed gate changed to remote guidance; a trial ran for a time. On 3 November 2024 platform doors were installed on the Odakyu down platform 1, and on 10 November 2024 on up platform 2. On 29 January 2025 platform doors came into use on both Odakyu platforms. On 8 February 2025 the widening of Odakyu up platform 2 was completed.
