Futamatagawa Station (二俣川駅) in Asahi Ward, Yokohama, is run by Sagami Railway. It opened on 12 May 1926 on the Shinchu Railway line to Atsugi.

History

The station opened on 12 May 1926 when the Shinchu Railway (神中鉄道) line opened from here to Atsugi. Trains also ran through from Samukawa on Sagami Railway's line, to carry gravel. In 1944 the line was electrified, and the voltage differed on each side of this station, so trains could not run between the Yokohama side and the Ebina side for a while. A bridge-style station building was completed on 28 April 1964. Sagami's training centre, Bunkyō-kaikan (文教会館), was completed on the south side on 1 December 1966. A station building on the south side, Futamatagawa Green Green, opened on 25 September 1970.

The Izumino Line opened from here to Izumino on 8 April 1976, making this station a transfer point. On 28 May 1989 the platforms were rebuilt as two island platforms with four tracks, a pull-in track was added, and the stream running through the station was covered over. Sagami Life (相鉄ライフ) opened in a shared building on the north side on 27 July 1990. The station building was improved in March 1999.

The Green Green building closed on 30 September 2014. The south bus plaza came into use on 17 December 2016. The station building was renewed in December 2017. JOINUS TERRACE Futamatagawa (ジョイナステラス) opened on 27 April 2018. On 30 November 2019 new commuter express and commuter rapid services began stopping here, when the Sagami–JR through line opened.

Platform doors came into use on the first and second platforms on 24 January 2021, and on the third and fourth platforms on 28 February 2021. The Sagami Life north building closed on 24 March 2023. It reopened as JOINUS TERRACE 3 (ジョイナステラス3) on 6 October 2023. On 1 April 2024 the sub-station name ジョイナステラス前 was introduced.
