Hamura Station (羽村駅) is a station in Hamura, Tokyo, on the JC Ōme Line, run by East Japan Railway Company. It opened on 19 November 1894.
History
The Ōme Railway (青梅鉄道) opened the station on 19 November 1894, when its line from Tachikawa to Ōme opened. It handled passengers and freight. On 1 April 1944 the Ōme Electric Railway was nationalized and the station became part of the Ōme Line under the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Freight handling ended on 16 November 1961. Luggage handling ended on 1 February 1971.
The station building was rebuilt as an elevated station on 1 June 1973. The east stairs were rebuilt in 1984 to allow access from two directions, on 12 April 1984. East Japan Railway Company took over on 1 April 1987. An automatic ticket gate opened on 22 November 1995. Suica became usable on 18 November 2001.
The Midori no Madoguchi ticket office closed on 25 March 2005 and a Moshimoshi ticket machine Kaeru-kun was installed. A new west station building opened on 3 November 2007. The Kaeru-kun machine was removed on 21 February 2012. The west side was extended in August 2017 and the kiosk moved. The ticket gate renovation was completed in 2020.
