Kamifukuoka Station (上福岡駅) is an elevated station in Fujimino, Saitama Prefecture. Tobu Railway runs it on the TJ Tobu Tojo Line. It opened on 1 May 1914.
History
Kamifukuoka Station opened on 1 May 1914 with the Tōjō Railway's Ikebukuro to Tamenzawa section. The opening ceremony was held on 18 October 1914, after being postponed because of the death of the Empress Dowager Shōken. On 22 July 1920, the Tōjō Railway was absorbed by the Tobu Railway and became the Tobu Tōjō Line. On 1 October 1929, the Ikebukuro to Kawagoe section was electrified.
On 1 September 1951, the Kikyōhara signal station was built between this station and Tsuruse. Together with the Mizuhodai signal station, it helped improve transport between Shiki and Kamifukuoka. On 21 August 1953, the track between here and Shin-Kawagishi was made double-track. On 1 March 1954, the section to Tsuruse was made double-track, and the Kikyōhara signal station closed. On 1 November 1959, a rebuilt station building opened, the first elevated station building of the Tobu Railway, and a storage line was completed around the same time. In August 1960, freight handling stopped, and the freight unloading area from the opening day was closed. In September 1967, the platforms were extended for longer trains.
On 1 November 1976, the platforms were extended again, this time for even longer trains. On 25 August 1987, Yūrakuchō Line through-service trains run by the Teito Rapid Transit Authority (now Tokyo Metro) began stopping here. On 15 November 1993, Fujimino Station opened between here and Tsuruse. On 30 March 2006, the redevelopment facility Cocone Kamifukuoka opened on the west side of the station. On 14 June 2008, Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line through-service trains began stopping here.
On 31 March 2009, an elevator on the south side started operating. On 18 May 2009, a departure melody began. On 30 October 2009, an elevator linking the ticket gates and the platform started operating. On 26 March 2010, an elevator on the north side started operating. On 30 March 2010, a multi-purpose toilet opened. On 1 April 2010, the exit names changed from north and south to east and west. On 1 August 2010, the ticket office and ticket counter moved to the gate side during renovation. On 23 November 2010, Tobu Books reopened. On 29 November 2010, a Saint Marc Café opened here.
On 9 April 2021, the Tobu Railway commuter pass sales counter closed. On 15 July 2021, a footbridge over the east station rotary opened.
