Kasukabe is a railway station in Tokyo.

Kasukabe Station (春日部駅) is a ground-level station in Kasukabe, Saitama. Tobu Railway runs it on the Tobu Skytree Line and the Tobu Urban Park Line. It opened on 27 August 1899 as Kasukabe Station (粕壁駅).

History

The station opened on 27 August 1899 as Kasukabe Station (粕壁駅), when the Tobu Railway opened the Isesaki Line. The Hokuso Railway, later the Noda Line, opened between here and a temporary Omiya station on 17 November 1929. The company was renamed Sosoku Railway on 22 November 1929, and its line was extended to Shimizu Park on 1 October 1930. Tobu Railway absorbed the Sosoku Railway on 1 March 1944. The station was renamed Kasukabe on 1 September 1949.

Through trains to the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line began on 1 September 1966. A west exit opened on 1 December 1971. An underground passage was built east of the station in 1976.

The Spacia limited express began stopping on some trains on 16 March 1999, and on all trains on 28 March 2001. Through trains to the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line began on 19 March 2003. A footbridge was extended to the west exit on 16 June 2004. The Noda Line was doubled between Higashi-Iwatsuki and this station on 19 October 2004, and the Noda Line platform got a departure melody on 10 March 2009.

The station got two line codes in March 2012, one for each line. Midday semi-express services were cancelled on 16 March 2013. A departure board and an approach chime were installed in January 2014. On 3 November 2016 the Crayon Shin-chan anime celebrated its anniversary with a special wrapped train. The Skytree Liner and the Urban Park Liner began stopping here on 21 April 2017, when the rapid and section rapid services were cancelled. The west signs were changed to Crayon Shin-chan designs on 15 December 2017.

The city planning decision for raising the tracks near the station was made on 8 March 2019. Elevation work began on 30 March 2021. A temporary east station building came into use on 4 February 2023. A temporary up platform for the Skytree Line came into use on 12 May 2024, and a temporary down platform on 5 October 2025.
