Manazuru is a railway station in Tokyo.

Manazuru Station is in Manazuru, Kanagawa Prefecture. East Japan Railway Company (JR East) runs it on the Tōkaidō Line. It opened on 21 December 1922.

History

The station opened on 21 December 1922 with the opening of the national Atami Line section between Kōzu and this station. It handled passengers and freight. On 1 October 1924 the Atami Line was opened between this station and Yugawara. Around April 1926, when station names were being reviewed across the country, the station was written phonetically as Manazuru. It was later changed back to the earlier spelling. On 1 December 1934 the station was moved from the Atami Line to the Tōkaidō Main Line.

Freight handling ended on 20 May 1970. Parcel handling ended on 15 March 1972. On 27 May 1977 part of a freight train derailed on the upbound line in the station yard. Several cars overturned. There were no casualties. On 1 October 1981 some Odoriko limited express trains began stopping here, in each direction. On 31 March 1987 freight handling was resumed, but regular freight trains still did not arrive or leave.

On 1 April 1987 the station passed to JR East and JR Freight. In March 1989 the rapid Actee began stopping here, and the station dropped out of the stops for the Odoriko. Suica became usable on 18 November 2001. On 31 May 2003 the transport of crushed stone from this station ended. JR Freight's station was abolished on 1 April 2006, and freight handling ended.

On 10 July 2015 the automatic ticket gates were replaced with a new type. On 15 August 2016 the escalator between the ticket gate level and the platform level began running upward all day. On 14 September 2025 the automatic ticket gates were changed to simple Suica gates.
