Musashi-Seki Station (武蔵関駅) is a station with a station building over the tracks, in Nerima, Tokyo. Seibu Railway runs it. It opened on 16 April 1927.

History

Musashi-Seki Station opened on 16 April 1927. In 1966 the platform layout changed from one island platform to two side platforms. A station building over the tracks came into use later that year. On 15 December 1978 the north exit opened, together with the Seibu Musashi-Seki Station Building (西武武蔵関ステーションビル).

Ticket equipment was changed many times. On 1 April 1988 machines that issued Leo Card (レオカード, later Passnet) were installed. Automatic ticket gates were added in 1992. In 1993 a sloped ticket machine that could sell ticket books was installed, and in 1996 a button-type machine for Leo Card came in. Automatic gates were updated to accept Passnet in 1999, and in 2000 all ticket machines were made Passnet-compatible. On 29 June 1990 the station building was refitted. In 2003 touch-panel machines that could sell ticket books (and PASMO) were installed.

Accessibility work began in 2004 and ran into 2005. Escalators and lifts were added, the toilets were moved and refitted, and the platforms were moved as well. In 2005 the Passnet issuing machine was removed and a touch-panel machine for commuter passes was installed.

In 2012 all ticket machines were changed to touch-panel models. A timetable change that year promoted daytime semi-express trains to express trains, so express trains no longer stop here during the day. In 2014 all automatic ticket gates were updated. On 1 October 2015 the Seibu Musashi-Seki Station Building was renamed Emio Musashi-Seki, as part of the Emio brand used for station buildings and shops beside Seibu stations.
