Nerima Station (練馬駅) is an elevated station in Nerima, Tokyo. Seibu Railway runs it, and the Ōedo Line of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government also stops here. It opened on 15 April 1915 as a Musashino Railway station.

History

The station opened on 15 April 1915 as a station on the Musashino Railway's Musashino Line, in what was then Shimo-Nerima village. The Toshima Line opened on 15 October 1927. The Seibu Agricultural Railway took over the station on 22 September 1945, and the Seibu Railway on 15 November 1946.

Semi-express trains passed through the station, except during weekday commuting hours, from 1 November 1963. In 1964 the station was changed to two island platforms and four tracks. A bridge-type station building came into use on 25 April 1965. Freight handling ended on 5 February 1972.

A north exit opened in October 1966. Work to elevate the station began in 1988. The Oedo Line opened between Hikarigaoka and here on 10 December 1991. Semi-express trains began stopping all day on 6 December 1993. The down line was elevated on 8 October 1994, and the up line on 2 August 1997.

The Seibu Yurakucho Line opened its first section, from here to Shin-Sakuradai, on 6 December 1994, as a single track. The line was doubled on 26 March 1998. An underground passage to the Oedo Line opened on 24 March 2000, and the Oedo line was renamed on 20 April 2000. Shops under the elevated tracks and a west exit opened on 14 December 2000. Rapid trains began stopping on 15 December 2001. The line was extended from here to Shinjuku on 19 December 1997.

The TOMONY store opened on 3 July 2007. The Emio shopping complex opened on 31 August 2007, in both the Seibu and Oedo underground passages. Commuter semi-express trains on the Ikebukuro Line began stopping here on 14 June 2008, and through services to the Fukutoshin Line opened the same day. The commuter ticket office closed on 2 March 2012. The F Liner began stopping here on 16 March 2013, and weekday S-Train services began on 16 March 2020.
