Sagami-Ono Station (相模大野駅) is an elevated station in Sagamihara, run by Odakyu Electric Railway on the Odakyu Odawara Line. It opened as Tsushin-gakko Station on 1 April 1938.

History

The first stop here was a signal station named Ono, opened on 1 April 1929, a short distance toward Odawara from the present site. On 1 April 1938 the army's signal school moved to this area, and the signal station became a station for it, named Tsushin-gakko. In December 1940 it was renamed Sagami-Ono to conceal the army facility.

Express services stopped here from April 1951. Wartime cuts ended express trains in November 1944. From June 1945 local trains ran the whole line and stopped here. Semi-express services began in October 1946. A commuter express was added in March 1955, and a commuter semi-express in March 1960. A rapid semi-express began in November 1964 and ended in March 1972.

An Odakyu depot at Ono opened in October 1962. The station moved to its present site on 1 September 1996, when a free passage linking the north and south sides opened. A shopping complex opened in November 1996. The Romancecar limited express began stopping here in August 1998.

The Asagiri Romancecar service to Gotemba on the JR Gotemba Line began stopping here in March 2012. On 19 June 2014 an empty train heading for the depot derailed. Section semi-express services ended in March 2016, and a commuter semi-express began stopping here in March 2018.

Large-opening platform doors for limited express trains came into use on the down platforms on 13 June 2024, and on the up platforms on 13 September 2024.
