Satte Station (幸手駅) is a station in Satte, Saitama Prefecture, run by Tobu Railway. It is on the TN Tobu Nikko Line and opened on 1 April 1929.
History
Satte Station opened on 1 April 1929, when the Tobu Nikko Line opened between Sugito Station (杉戸駅) and Shin-Kanuma Station (新鹿沼駅). On 26 August 1986, the opening of Sugito-Takanodai Station (杉戸高野台駅) and Minami-Kurihashi Station (南栗橋駅) ended the trains that started here and removed the passing track.
A Tobu Store branch opened in Satte on 16 June 1974 and closed on 28 February 2003. On 19 March 2003, trains through to the Tokyo Metro Hibiya and Hanzomon lines and the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line began to stop here. A timetable change on 18 March 2006 cut the number of daytime trains to Asakusa. The special express Kirifuri began stopping here on 20 March 2006, and it stopped here on a regular basis until 20 April 2017.
Ticket and access facilities were added over several years. A commuter pass machine was installed on 23 January 2007, and PASMO became usable on 18 March 2007. A special express ticket machine was installed on 25 June 2007. PASMO-only gates were added on 23 March 2009, and an LED departure board started on 18 March 2009. The commuter pass and ticket counter closed on 30 November 2010. A multifunction toilet opened on 8 March 2011, an elevator on 9 March 2011, and a departure melody on 4 November 2011. On 17 March 2012, the station was given a station number. On 15 March 2013, Section Rapid trains began to pass through the station.
The station building was rebuilt as an elevated station. On 4 March 2017, the old station building stopped being used and a temporary building opened. On 13 September 2017, an IC card charger replaced the automatic fare adjustment machine. On 18 February 2019, a machine offering eight languages was installed. The elevated station building, an east-west free passage and the west exit plaza opened on 17 March 2019, after a ceremony on 16 March 2019. LED departure boards on the platforms started on 27 March 2019. A public toilet at the east exit opened on 15 March 2023, and a station piano was placed in the free passage on 17 March 2023. Park-and-ride started on 26 February 2024, and the east exit plaza was completed on 14 March 2024.
Bus and special train services changed over time. The Satte city loop bus ended on 31 March 2016, and a route linking the west exit with Kuki opened on 1 May 2020. A new city loop bus started on 4 January 2022, and it began stopping at the station on 1 April 2024. Special express trains stopped here for the Satte cherry blossom festival in April 2017 and for spring events in March and April of 2018, 2019 and 2020. The special express Skytree Train stopped here on 22 March 2025.
