Suidobashi is a railway station in Tokyo.

Suidobashi Station (水道橋駅) in Tokyo, between Chiyoda and Bunkyo wards, serves the Chūō–Sōbu Line (Local) and the Mita Line. It opened on 24 September 1906 as a Kōbu Railway station.

History

The Kōbu Railway opened the station on 24 September 1906, for passengers only. The Kōbu Railway was nationalised on 1 October 1906, and the station became a government railway station. On 12 October 1909 the station was placed on the Chūō East Line.

The Japanese National Railways took over on 1 June 1949. Luggage handling ended on 1 May 1960. On 22 February 1972, after the last train, the overbridge on the rapid tracks east of the station was rebuilt. The work was for the Toei Mita subway line and the widening of Hakusan Dōri (白山通り). On 27 February 1972 the overbridge for the local tracks was rebuilt in the same way, which was a large job with no earlier example. The Mita Line station opened on 30 June 1972, and the line was renamed the Mita Line on 1 July 1978.

JR East took over the station on 1 April 1987. Automatic ticket gates were installed at the east exit on 26 January 1991 and at the west exit on 8 March 1991.

Suica became usable on 18 November 2001. On 4 July 2006 the JR departure melody changed to the Yomiuri Giants cheer song 'Tōkon Komete' (闘魂こめて). PASMO became usable on the Toei side on 18 March 2007. On 1 April 2015 the Toei station duties were contracted to the Tokyo Toei Transport Cooperation (東京都営交通協力会).

The Midori ticket window closed on 12 March 2021. Platform doors came to the first platform on 12 February 2022 and to the second platform on 18 March 2022. On 7 December 2024 the JR east exit got a customer support call system (お客さまサポートコールシステム). Eki-Net Q Ticket started on 1 October 2025.
