Kita-Koshigaya Station (北越谷駅) in Koshigaya, Saitama, is run by Tobu Railway and serves the Tobu Skytree Line. It is an elevated station that opened on 27 August 1899 as Koshigaya Station (越ヶ谷駅).
History
The station opened on 27 August 1899 as Koshigaya Station (越ヶ谷駅), when the Tobu line from Kita-Senju to Kuki opened. It was renamed Bushū-Ōsawa (武州大沢) on 20 November 1919, and Kita-Koshigaya on 1 December 1956. A street television was set up in front of the station in July 1956. In March 1962 an elevated station building and a west exit were built. On 31 May 1962, when the Hibiya Line opened between Kita-Senju and Ningyōchō, through running to this station began.
On 4 August 1992 the elevated works began. The bridge station building and footbridge closed, and a two-storey temporary station was built on the Koshigaya side of the east exit, with an underpass toward the west side. On 2 August 1994 a lead track stopped being used during the timetable change, so trains that turned here went on to Ōbukuro (大袋) to turn back. On 25 March 1997 the elevated double-double track to Koshigaya was completed, and except for a few early and late trains, trains that started or ended here now run to and from Koshigaya.
The up line was elevated on 11 September 1998, and the down line on 9 September 1999, which completed the elevated tracks. An automatic gate and a west passage were installed at the same time, and the temporary station and west underpass closed. On 28 March 2001 the four-track elevated line was completed, and trains began to start and end here again. On 19 March 2003 through running to the Hanzōmon Line (半蔵門線) and Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line (東急田園都市線) began, and a section express became the first non-local train to start and end here. On 18 March 2006 that section express became a semi-express, and new semi-express trains to and from Asakusa began here.
The departure melody was introduced on 8 December 2011. On 16 March 2013 daytime section express trains were discontinued. In the daytime only Hibiya Line through trains run, and trains to Asakusa run only in the morning and at night. A waiting room opened on 1 March 2019. On 7 June 2020 the first platform got platform doors.
