Seijogakuen-Mae Station (成城学園前駅) is an underground station in Setagaya, Tokyo. Odakyu Electric Railway runs it on the Odakyu Odawara Line. It opened on 1 April 1927.

History

The station opened on 1 April 1927, when the Seijo Gakuen school moved to this area. Kohara Kuniyoshi, the principal of the Seijo High School, asked the railway to open the station. The company developed housing land around it and used the profits to build the school.

The station building was moved onto a bridge in 1932, the first such station on the Odakyu. The Katase-Enoshima direct stop began here on 1 September 1937. Semi-express trains started stopping on 1 October 1946, and the Sakura semi-express in September 1948. The platforms were made long enough for six-car trains in May 1957. A commuter semi-express began on 25 March 1960, and a rapid semi-express on 5 November 1964. Express trains began stopping in April 1971, and the commuter express was discontinued.

The down line was moved underground on 31 March 2002, and the up line on 16 June 2002. The up platform came back into use on 23 May 2004, and the four-track layout was finished on 26 September 2004. A section semi-express began on 11 December 2004. A west exit opened on 11 April 2005.

The Seijo Corti shopping complex opened on 29 September 2006. The Metro Homeway limited express services began on 15 March 2008. All Metro Hakone limited express trains began stopping here on 17 March 2012. The station received its numbering code in January 2014. From 26 March 2016 JR East trains began running through to this station via the Chiyoda Line, and the section semi-express ended.

From 17 March 2018 new Metro Enoshima and Metro Morning Way limited express services and new commuter express and commuter semi-express services began stopping here, and the Metro Sagami and the Tama express were removed. From 16 March 2019 six-car trains no longer ran east of this station, except limited express trains. From 12 March 2022 all Metro Homeway trains from the Chiyoda Line stopped here.
